Naked Rain (Developer Studio)
Category:Game Systems
Naked Rain is the development studio behind ANANTA: the official press release is co-signed "NetEase Games and Naked Rain" (NetEase Games publishing, Naked Rain developing), and together they announced the January 15, 2027 global launch and the start of pre-registration on August 25, 2026. 4Gamer's gamescom 2026 report described the developer as "NAKED RAIN, Thunder Fire Studio's new studio" (a studio newly set up under NetEase's Thunder Fire banner), and its September 2 gamescom hands-on interview added that Naked Rain operates studios in Hangzhou and Montreal, Canada. Use this page for "who is developing ANANTA"; team size, producers and the voice-actor roster remain to be confirmed.
Naked Rain is the development studio behind ANANTA. The official press release is signed “NetEase Games and Naked Rain” — NetEase Games publishes, Naked Rain develops — and it was the two of them that announced the January 15, 2027 global launch and the opening of pre-registration on August 25, 2026 (dateline Hangzhou; Games Press wire copy, verified directly by us). Japanese outlet 4Gamer, in its August 26, 2026 gamescom report on the launch date, described the developer as “NAKED RAIN, Thunder Fire Studio’s new studio”, i.e. a newly established studio under NetEase’s Thunder Fire banner; its September 2 gamescom hands-on interview added that Naked Rain has studios in Hangzhou, China and Montreal, Canada — which that editor took as one reason Chongxiao reads like “Hangzhou and Shanghai melted together” (see our Chongxiao city profile).
Why the term matters to players, in three layers. First, developer and publisher are signed separately in official copy, so you can tell apart what NetEase Games says from what Naked Rain says. Second, the Hangzhou + Montreal footprint lines up with the expo cadence recorded in our Tokyo Game Show entry: ANANTA was absent from the TGS2026 exhibitor list, while gamescom in Cologne was its main overseas reveal stage. Third, figures repeatedly quoted in coverage — an “roughly 800-person team”, named producers — mostly come from second-hand reporting rather than from the studio itself; our game-info page keeps those early figures with their provenance marked, and team size, producer names, studio division of labour and the voice-actor roster all remain to be confirmed. The one hard line that does come from the developer is monetization: no character gacha, characters distributed for free (see Character Acquisition and Pre-registration).
