Downtown Shopping District
Category：Geography
Nova City's retail and entertainment hub, where faction members mingle off duty.
One of Nova City’s surface-layer districts, located north of the Central Business District, is the city’s shopping and entertainment hub. Unlike the office属性 of the Central Business District, the Downtown Shopping District centers on consumption, entertainment and nightlife, gathering large shopping malls, fine dining, bar streets, cinemas and clubs. It is the liveliest area of Nova City, and also a social venue where members of various factions frequent during off-hours.
Geography and Environment
The Downtown Shopping District takes a north-south main street as its axis, with commercial entities of all sizes distributed on both sides. The middle section of the main street is a pedestrian zone, closed to vehicles, where street performers, billboards and neon lights decorate it brilliantly. Buildings in the district are generally shorter than those in the Central Business District, mostly 5- to 10-story commercial buildings, with rooftop bars and restaurants on top.
The underground layer of the Downtown Shopping District is directly connected to the subway system, and underground commercial streets extend into subway stations, forming a vast underground consumption space. This also means the district has a large contact area with the Underground Layer, and the risk of Chaos渗透 is relatively high.
Key Landmarks
Stellar Shopping Center
The largest shopping mall in the Downtown Shopping District, with over 200 stores covering fashion, dining, entertainment and other formats. The top floor of the mall features an indoor amusement park and cinema, making it a popular destination for Nova City family outings. Alan, as a part-time model, often participates in brand events and fashion shows here.
Bar Street
An alley on the east side of the Downtown Shopping District, gathering dozens of bars and clubs of various styles. Bar Street at night is bustling with lights and wine, and is the core area of Nova City’s nightlife. It is also an important node for intelligence circulation—many of Alan’s intelligence transactions are completed in corners of Bar Street.
Central Station
A large transportation hub at the southern end of the Downtown Shopping District,汇集 subway, bus and long-distance passenger transport. Central Station is one of the locations with the highest pedestrian flow in Nova City, handling hundreds of thousands of passengers daily. The station’s vast underground structure is connected to the Underground Layer, making it a key area for Chaos prevention and control.
Chaos Situation
The Chaos concentration in the Downtown Shopping District is medium. Due to the existence of underground commercial streets and the subway system, rifts appear not infrequently. But the district has strong security forces, and the NCCA has a dedicated patrol unit here; most small rifts can be controlled before causing panic. Large Chaos incidents are relatively rare, but once they occur, due to the extremely dense人流, the consequences could be very serious.
