What happened

On September 14, 2026, a Naked Rain developer sat down with Japanese outlet AUTOMATON; Gamersky and other Chinese outlets published consolidated coverage on Sept 14–15, followed by 163, 17173 and Sohu:

  • Scale: each city will provide no fewer than 100 hours of playable content, with Nova City and Chongxiao shipping at launch.
  • Service life: at least seven years of post-launch support; some reports say the content plan is expected to run toward 2034.
  • Monetization, again: no character gacha at all — every playable character unlocks free via the main story, with spending limited to cosmetics such as outfits and vehicle paints (163’s report also lists home decor).
  • The reasoning: the developer said paid character gates would break story integrity and weaken long-term bonds between players and characters.

Why it matters

This was the third wave of key official messaging in a single month, after the gamescom date lock (Aug 25) and the no-open-beta stance (Sept 15). Playtime and service-length promises moved “how long will it last?” from community guesswork to sourced statements, and strengthened the case for the no-gacha, content-treadmill business model. Concrete roadmaps — new regions, characters, version cadence — remain unpublished and are treated as to-be-confirmed.

Source note

“100+ hours per city”, “at least 7 years” and “roadmap toward 2034” all trace to media coverage of the Sept 14–15, 2026 developer interview; detailed content lists await official announcements.
