Plot Summary
The Information Broker’s Deal
As Dog Demon Society activities grow more frequent, the Captain realizes direct combat alone won’t suffice — an intelligence network is essential. Through Taffy’s Cat Express connections, the Captain contacts Alan — Nova City’s most famous information broker and part-time model.
Alan appears warm and sociable on the surface, but is extremely cautious underneath. He fights with ice-effect Chaos yo-yos and has contacts spanning every tier of Nova City society. The Captain strikes a deal: the ACD provides official protection, Alan provides Dog Demon Society intelligence. But Alan seems to have his own hidden agenda.
The Thermal Engineer Joins
Alan’s intel points to a medium-sized rift in the underground passages, where thermal-attribute Chaos entities have appeared. During the clearing mission, the Captain encounters Thermo — a former Anbar Industries thermal engineer wielding a self-modified portable Thermal Chaos Cannon.
Thermo has deep knowledge of thermal Chaos properties. His cannon can switch between ranged and close combat forms. His addition fills the squad’s gap in ranged firepower.
Squad Formation Complete
At this point, the Kick Squad’s core roster is essentially complete: the Captain’s tentacles provide high mobility and burst power, Rich’s tactical blades handle melee output, Taffy’s Gravity Hammer balances control and damage, Mechanika provides technical support, Bansy handles area control, Alan runs the intelligence network, and Thermo delivers ranged firepower.
